Jewish Professionals in Secular Nonprofits
In 2025, we conducted a systematic analysis to understand the lived experiences, workplace dynamics, and systemic gaps that shape how antisemitism is expressed, confronted, or too often ignored within mission-driven institutions.
Why This Report Matters
This report emerges from a deep commitment to the nonprofit sector and its vital role in strengthening our communities and democracy. Nonprofits are essential spaces for advancing justice, fostering civic engagement, and addressing society’s most pressing challenges.
By lifting up the experiences of Jewish professionals working in secular nonprofits, this research is not meant to criticize the sector but to strengthen it. The findings reflect a shared desire to continue contributing fully to mission-driven work without having to choose between Jewish identity and the work people love, while naming the real challenges that arise when workplaces fall short of their stated values of inclusion and belonging.
